Northern VA Photography- Just look at all the change that happens between newborn and six months! This little guy is the same newborn I shared on the blog on Wednesday. I was so happy to have him, his mom, and his grandma back in the studio for this milestone session.

These two women are undoubtedly the most important women in this little one’s life. I have so much admiration for his mom, she is an incredible woman, as all mom’s are. Seeing such deep love between a mother and her son is amazing, and of course grandma is a huge part of this family too. It was so much for them to play together, laugh, and be silly in the studio. I keep various items and toys around my studio space to encourage natural playfulness and authenticity- nothing forced or staged. 

Light and bright were the colors we chose when styling this session. Mom’s dress is a stunning piece from my studio wardrobe by Baltic Born, and grandma is wearing a beautiful dress by Piper & Scoot. Both mom and grandma got their hair and makeup done by Yisell Santos, a truly gifted makeup artist in Northern Virginia! They looked so gorgeous and radiant. 

Six month milestones sessions are all about showing the growth and changes in your baby. We want to document those sweet baby rolls, sitting up, crawling, and playing! I recommend keeping the outfit of your little one  simple when we’re looking for those details and movement. If he wasn’t wearing a diaper or overalls, this little guy was dressed in an heirloom baby outfit! I loved the collar detail, and how, just like the newborn session, there was an extra special detail in this session just for him.
