Curly Haired Newborn Baby | Gainesville Virginia Newborn Photographer

This sweet girl was one of our newborns at the Simple and Pure workshop earlier this summer. It was held at Sarah Lorene Photography studio in Moncks Corner, South Carolina with Bethney Backhaus Photography and myself. Bethney and I have been talking about doing a workshop together since we first met online years ago. It finally happened, after moves and babies were settled, and we had such an amazing group of women join us. It still feels like a dream!! Those of you close to me know that I do not like to put myself out there… I like to take pretty pictures of cute babies and just love on my clients. Stepping into the role of educator beyond a 1:1 level, was terrifying. This was a huge leap for me to stand in front of a group of already talented photographers and I cannot thank these women enough for trusting us with their time. Sarah was the best southern hostess; we could not have done this without her amazing studio location and hospitality. Jody Mack Photography was also with us every day capturing behind the scenes images and videos – we hope to offer this again at a different location! 

When this baby arrived with her parents we couldn’t stop gushing over her gorgeous curly hair. She loved to be curled up on the posing bean bag in the warm studio space. New babies love to feel warm and need that warm space to go into a comfortable sleep during any newborn photo session. We focused on natural, baby-led posing, using the best light in it’s fullest potential and filling a gallery with a variety of beautiful images. Each workshop attendant had time to take photos of the adorable workshop babies, ask questions and watch Bethney and I work. The parents of the babies were so excited to see sneak peek images on social media and to receive their gallery!
