Washington DC – New year, new blog posts!

Both the maternity and newborn session for this family were so much fun to be apart of. This momma used to be a hair and makeup artist who had worked with a previous client of mine. We began following each other on Instagram, and the rest is history! Our online friendship grew as I got to watch her marry the love of her life amid the early days of the pandemic and, when she got pregnant again after a loss, we finally met in-person for the maternity session!

We were slightly worried the maternity session would become the freshest of fresh-48’s since Mom was technically on modified bedrest, but baby Austin held on until full-term and was greeted into the world on time!

The atmosphere in the studio during the newborn session was completely magical. Momma was holding her healthy, beautiful newborn son, standing with the love of her life and became overcome with emotion in that special moment.

Both of these sessions were done in Washington, DC in-studio with a mixture of my wardrobe and hers- momma brought the stunning black dress. I absolutely loved watching my friend go through her pregnancy and be able to capture these memories with her.
